Hi, I’m Claire. I’m a former scientist, current freelance science writer, and graduate student in Johns Hopkins University’s Science Writing program.
After earning a B.S. in Chemical Biology and working for seven years as an analytical development scientist in Greater Boston’s biotech scene, I traded in my pipettes for pens and started pursuing science writing full-time. I leverage my technical background and scientific community exposure to help “translate” scientific content into stories that anyone can access and enjoy.
Even though it’s been several months since I hung up my lab coat, I keep my finger on the pulse of the biotech and pharma industries. My writing has been published in Ginkgo Bioworks’ digital magazine, Grow, and with the Broad Institute’s communications department.
